Totalitarianism is a word that refers to a government taking total control over a centralized state. Joseph Stalin used Totalitarianism to rule the Soviet Union by taking complete control over peoples lives. People couldnt do whatever they wanted, and food was limited just because Stalin said so. The Five Year Plans was aspect developments that had to do with foods, agriculture, health, education, and even welfare. The Great Purges is campaigns of politicial repression, and persecution of the Soviet Union. Joseph Stalin was the leader of Russia. He then changed Russia, and all of his people.

Film Lesson: Doctor Zhivago

The film Doctor Zhivago depicted towards the Russian Revolution because what the film and Russian Revolution is both mainly about the harsh times for the russians, also the life of Zhivago, and how World War I disrupts his life since he has a family to take care of. He struggles to maintain hiself as a surgeon-poet, and also to maintain his humist spirit during the war, and the Revolution. The reason the Russian people wanted a change in thier country was mainly because a sense of patriotism. They really wanted more food such as bread, fuel, and also a end to the war. But the main reason the revolution happened in the first place was mainly because the countries population was undergoing sevre economic and social conditions. The film Doctor Zhivago also depicted communism because he wanted everyone to be common as in equal. With communism in the world there will be no more war, and everybody can come together as one. When Dr. Zhivago came back to Moscow his first look on communism was that it happened already, especially in his own house!! He had families living there just to keep them off the streets, and safe from danger. He had room since him and his family had a big house which they all lived at the top. It thought it was better to share then to live there by himself.

World War I (WWI) was a was that started the rise of nationalism of all the European Nations. The Primary causes of WWI was first conflicts that led up to the war from the four decades. Nationalism in WWI was between the European Nations between Italy, Germany, and also France. All of the nationalist groups wanted freedom in the states where they lived. Militarism meaning army forces over a type of government was an arms race between the European countries. Militarism was when their was a competition between Germany and Britian. The Assassination of Franz Ferdinand happened when a group of Serin terrorist called The Black Hand planned on attacking the Archduke. Some people was injured and Ferdinand, and his wife Sophie decided to go visit injured people at a hospital, but was killed by a terrorist on the way from making a wrong turn. The Alliance system was really a first cause of WWI. The alliance system was a system really to keep the war going, it couldve forced any nation to go to war against each other.

The Opium Wars

The Opium Wars was really a British war between China during the years 1839 - 1842. During the Opium Wars the British forced the chinese through warfare to grow opium, so that the British could make lots of money, selling it around the world. They deliberately created the conditions for addiction, amongst the poor in China, to keep them subject to the monarchy. The Opium Wars was call the Opium Wars because Opium was the main drug that was being transported in, and out of China. The British won over the War because they had alot of manpower, to fight both on land and sea.

The White Man's Burden was a poem written by Rudyard Kipling. The White Man's Burden poem was about The Uniteds State Conquest, and also a form to Spanish Colonies. I do agree to the analysis of the poems from the White Man's Burden because everything in our world is still separated into understanding how everything work. Yes the united states is still imperalistic because we are still having wars, for an example; IraQ. Yes we are, and still living the White Man's Burden 100 years later, because yet we still haven't found the right idea to be equal with one another, and not be separatedm in our own ways.

The term Scramble for Africa means the single act of flurry of imperialistic activity, such as France, and Great Britian. The main European nations that was involved in this Scramble was; Spain, Portugal, Italy, Great Britian, France, Holland, Belguim, and Germany. During the scramble these european nations were looking to colonizing Africa. The European nations was easy to dominate Africa because of all the weapons, and power they had. The Africans was new to their objects so being mysterious about them they was afraid to even go near them.

In the film "Mountains of the Moon" the Europeans faced alot of terrors, and dangers during the exploration of Africa. They faced lions, dangerous insects, and also alot of diseases, and enemies new to their appearence which turned out to be new friends. The Europeans were on the expedition to find the source of the Nile River also known as Queen Victoria's British Empire. It was strange that the Nile River, was named after the British Queen, because the Nile River was really located in Africa not in England like they thought it was. But the Nile River is a british name, not an African name! The primary technological advantage that the Europeans had over the African people was fire power, bots, and most of all guns, where african people was not use to seeing. The Europeans was finally able to conquer Africa so easily because of all the weapons they had.

The Meiji Restoration of Japann was a chain of events that led to changes in Japan. A man called Matthew Perry have bullied the Japenese into signing the trade treaty because he had 4 big black ships which the japenese call them...came up the bay of Yedo. U.S. Commodore have sent the ships to be supplied with coal, and water for their whaling ships in the china trade. He also bullied the Japenese because of military might. Matthew Perry had technology of toy trains that impressed the japenese. It impressed them so much because they didn't even know what it was. The Japenese economy changed through social and politicial changes. It changed the way people lived free and without restrictions letting them move about. Japan is an archipelago. Being Archipelago means one or more islands surrounded by a large body of water.

Karl Marx was a german philosopher, and econominist. Karl Marx thought the Industrial Revolution was a mess, and that workers was working unsafe, and under harsh conditions. He didn't like the way the Revolution went, because to him Revolution ment working together to create a better community in other words Communism. Communisn was the word Marx used for the word Common. The Industrial Revolution inspired Marx to invent Communism, because he believed that workers should come together and share wealth and a common community. Marx died in the year 1833 though Communism did not spread in other countries. But Monolia became the 2nd communist country, and even though the governments was strict, and dictorial it still led Marx's word to a success!

Nationalism is the pride for one's country, and culture. Nationalism can be territorial, cultural, and also have its own ethnic links which means you can express yourself, anywhere anytime. For an example; I am Nationalistic because I show pride for my country being an American. I show that I am Nationalistic because I say the Pledge Of Allegence, in refrence to The American Flag that represents The United States Of America. Nationalism in Italy had states which was split up during the early 1800's. Before Italy became Italy it was home to many Eurpeon Cultures. Then it really became Italy when it was the birthplace movement of the Italian Renaissance. In today's world Italy is the country that hold the biggest religion the Roman Catholicism. Plus it has the largest population, and it is known for having the boot like shape on the map.

Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolution

Simon Bolivar full name (Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar y Palacios) was an South American independence leader, and a traveler. A war was named after him called Boliva's war. Simon Bolivar was also a traveler. He traveled to Europe, and he lived in Caracus, Venezuela. When he was a little child his parents died, but as a young man that's when his travels started. Bolivar was famous likely for his spanish people, and culture. He stood, and represented his people, and they believed in what he did. His army have won victory over the Spaniards at Auacucho, just to get more Spanish power in South America. In South America a country called Bolivia which was named after Simon Bolivar. Bolivia is found in the central of South America. The thing that influenced Bolivar so much for revolution was to educate, and reform his own country Venezuela. Simon exceeded in leading a board of revoltion in South America for his country, and has influenced us to do the same for ours in the world today.

Maximilien Robespierre full name ( Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre ) was born on May 6th, 1758, where his father was, and was based on an advocate. Between the months, days, and years of September 5, 1793 through July 28, 1794 the Terror was a period of time of 10 months during the French Revoltuion when struggles between the rivals led to mutal radicalization(means mean involving injustice, and to self, and to others). The terror took on a violent character with mass executions! Maximillien and a new purge in 1794, he seemed to threaten the other members of the Committee of Public Safety. The Jacobins had had enough. Cambon rose in the Convention and said "It is time to tell the whole truth. One man alone is paralyzing the will of the Convention. And that man is Robespierre." Others quickly rallied to his support. Robespierre was arrested and sent to the guillotine the next day, the last victim of the Reign of Terror. Also George Danton prolly had something in common with the Terror since they was popularly resented as archetype's in which has to do with the revoltuionary violence.The Reign of Terror happened when Robespierre called for a The Reign of Terror executions was carried out by the repression accelerated in June and July 1794, a period named la Grande Terreur (The Great Terror) and lasted until the executions following the coup of 9 Thermido Year II (on July 27th, 1794) which several key leaders of the Reign of Terror were themselves executed, including Saint-Just Robespierre. The Terror took the lives of between 18,500 to 40,000 people (estimates vary widely, due to the difference between historical records and statistical estimates). In the single month before it ended, 1,900 executions took place!

The French Revolution was a period of political and social upheaval in the politicial history of France and Europe as a whole, during which the French governmental structure, previously an absolute monarchy with feudal privileges for the arisrocracy and Catholic Clergy, underwent radical change to forms based on The Enlightenment principles of republic, citizenship, and inalienable rights. The three estates of the French Revolution were the divisions of society. The first estate was usually distinguishing nobility. The second estate was clergy. And last but not least the third one was commoners. The third estate felt used during the French Revolution because the third estate was the generality of people which were not part of the other estates. The third estate made up 97% of the population of France. The Enlightenment thinkers influenced the French Revolution by affecting the french society as a subject of debate, from the beginning of the Revoltuion today. On July 14, 1789 an national holiday has occured called Bastille Day. Bastille Day is the french symbol that is at the end of the Monarchy, and is at the beginning of the First Republic. And also on July 14 year 1789 the storming of Bastille took on a great historical dimension. The stroming of Bastille was when there was proof where power was no longer resided in the King as God's helper or resident. Within two days after the deminision the Revoltuin couldn't be reversed.

Copernicus And The Trial Of Galileo

Galileo Galilei came into conflict with the Catholic Church over his support of Copernican Astonomy, is often considered a defining moment in the history of the relationship between religion and science. Galileo was forced to kneel in front of the Inquisition and recant his belief in the Copernican planetary system and the motion of the Earth. He was condemned to life imprisonment, ostensibly for having disobeyed a 1616 injunction by Cardinal Bellarmino "...not to defend or teach the Copernican doctrine...". The very next day the sentence was commuted to perpetual house arrest, which was rigidly upheld to the end of Galileo's life. Galileo's Dialogue was also put on the Index of Prohibited Books, together with the books by Copernicus and Kepler treating of the heliocentric system, where they all remained until 1835. Only in 1992 did the Roman catholic Church formally admitted to having erred in dealing with Galileo.

In the history of science, the scientific revolution was the period that began with the discoveries of Kepler, Galileo, and others in the 17th century, and ended with the publication of the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica in 1687 by Isaac Newton. The first telescope was made in Holland, by a Dutch lens maker who hit on the idea of putting two lenses at each end of a tube and looking through it. Galileo read about this invention in a letter and forthwith built his own. He ground his own lenses, constructed his own tube, and produced a telescope with a power of magnification of about 10 -- more than twice as powerful as the one the Dutch had made. That Galileo could do this after merely having read a description of the device is a testament to his skill as a craftsman.Galileo built his telescope in 1610 when he was living in Venice. Isaac Newton was known for this, and he have completed his theory of making a new discovery.

The Scientific Method is the step by step process which scientists use to investigate hypotheses using experiments. It is a procedure as which Galileo, and others use when creating, and studing their observations. The answers can come out wrong, and some can come out right. Though what Scientific Revolution: Scientific Method have in common is that they are both based on Knowledge & Solutions.

Enabling life are the results of the process of evolution over a period estimated to be more than 3 billion years. Evolution is the series of changes over time, and can account for the present form and function of objects organisms, and designed systems. Now on the other hand Creation is the human act of creating. This is the theology of god's act of bringing the universe into existence. Between Evolution and Creation they are both everything exist except God himself. Evolution was the general term used to refer to the first chapters of Genesis where God have creates heaven, the earth, and also mankind. In harmony the part of the Bible have became to be severly criticized by some who failed to understand it. The unproven and unprovable theory can be human life which can result of a process of evolution.
